Catharine of Aragon was Queen of England as the first wife of King Henry VIII of England. For 6 months she served as regent of England while Henry VIII was in France. During that time the English won the Battle of Flodden. Henry VIII was dissatisfied that his marriage to Catherine had produced no surviving sons. At first Catherine gave birth to a prematurely stillborn daughter, a son who died suddenly who had only lived 52 days, she also lost another son when Henry returned from France who was either a stillborn or who had died shortly after birth. Until February 1616 when Catherine delivered a healthy girl who was named Mary. She later became pregnant again but the child died and only lived for a few hours. Overall Catherine was pregnant six times all together. Later on Henry VIII divorced Catherine, and remarried to a women named Anne Boleyn.
Anne Boleyn was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536 as the second wife of Henry VIII of England. Anne gave birth later on to a girl which disappointed Henry along with that three miscarriages fallowed. On May 2 she Anne was arrested and sent to the tower of London for high treason the charges included adultery, and witchcraft. She was found guilty on May 15 and was beheaded.
Jane Seymour was the third wife of Henry VIII, who died quickly of postnatal complications less than two weeks after birth of her only child, a son who was reigned as Edward VI. Anne of Cleves was the fourth wife of Henry VIII. Anne was given a settlement by the King and after referred to as the King’s Beloved Sister. She lived to see the coronation of Mary I of England, outliving the rest of Henry’s wives. Next was the fifth wife of King Henry VIII of England, her name was Catherine Howard. Catherine was beheaded after less than two years of marriage to Henry on the grounds of treason for committing adultery while still married to the King.

Catherine had a close relationship with Henrys three children and was personally involved with the education of Elizabeth and Edward, both who became English Monarchs. Catherine was the daughter of Sir Thomas Parr, who served as Henry’s master of the household. She was well educated and knew Latin, Greek, and modern languages. Catherine helped reconcile Henry to his two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. Catherine also educated her step son Edward. After Henrys death she gave birth to her only child, a daughter and died a few days later of puerperal fever. Catherine left to works that were soon published after her death.
